A lot of individuals who has passed the age of puberty suffer with dark spots that usually results from acne. African American skin has more melanin and this is usually the cause why dark skin can be very sensitive. Too much sun exposure can cause skin and irritation and in turn will promote acne eruption. This is the reason why dark skin individuals like African American, Asians and Latinos face this kind of skin condition.

 

Dark spots on the skin can be treated at home but if it persists, it would be better to check with a medical professional or dermatologists. This way you would know that the dark spot is harmless. It is important to determine that the dark spot is benign before it can be treated effectively. Some dark spots can be easily treated with cream and sun block application. But for severe dark spots medical treatments would be more preferable such as skin peelings. It would be best to consult with dermatologists before you undergo any medical treatments for dark spots.

 

The key to treating persistent dark spots is prevention. Whenever you go out, use a sunscreen with SPF 15 or even higher. Never pick on your pimples since it can cause acne scaring. Lastly, pick up a skin product that is mild made from organic and natural ingredients.
